What's cool in Florida??

Speaking of Florida, what would you think of? Sun Shine? Water? Space Shuttle?? All correct. You just cannot believe how many different kinds of water sports are played here in Florida. In only 3 months or so, I have already played with 4 forms of water....

BEACH ~~~

Along the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Coast of Florida, there lies an almost continuous line of beach. You can see sunrise at the Atlantic Coast and Sunset at the Gulf Coast. Surf crazily with the high ocean waves at the east and enjoy a calm and warm swim at the west. Interesting....

Left: Sunset at Clearwater Beach, West Coast of Florida. Just incredible!

Right: Don't forget to check out the white and powdery sand over there.

Left: Have you ever being buried in the sand? It was quite fun actually. That happened at Cocoa Beach, East Coast of Florida.

Right: Look, the waves are so much higher over at this side. The water is colder there too.

LAKE ~~~

Florida is a big Swamp area. So you'll easily find different sizes of lakes all over Florida. Just in Orlando, I believe there are more than 200 lakes.

Left: Here's some of my buddies we met from work. We were in Big Lake Mary, north of Orlando. Brenton's riding the Jetski, pulling Ryan who's with the wake board, Adam is floating around.

Right: OK, that's me riding on a wake board. Let me tell you, it's just too difficult. I couldn't stay up for longer than 3 seconds. It's fun though!

River ~~~

Left: Rivers run all over Florida. This is the St. John's River, where the fresh water and salt water intersect. We could find some of those endangered Cypress Trees. They can only grow in swamp area.

Right: Another beautiful scene from the St. John's River.

Underwater ~~~

Left: Scuba Diving is one of the most recent activities I've done here. This is my first Ocean Dive at Boca Raton, a coastal town north of Miami. We took the boat to the Ocean and dive. It was awesome! The underwater world is very different. A new exploration. Unfortunately, my camera cannot dive. Here is the picture while we're on the boat. They are my buddy group, Justin, Adam and Tim. (Tim was holding the camera)

Right: That's just come out from the water after the second dive. I was looking at my big cut on my finger. It was pretty scary as it was so wavy on the surface when we got up and it was dark already. I was thrown back to the sea while I tried to climbed up the ladder with all my gears on but without the fins.

NASA in Florida ~~~

The NASA in Florida is responsible for all the launching. So whenever there is rocket, space shuttle or satellite  going up, it's got to be in Florida.

This is the launching of Atlas IIB. I know it's not very close. But I did see some rockets launch. You can hear the noise from it even that far away. People said there would be a more obvious trail for space shuttle. I'll see if I could see the next launching of space shuttle on Oct 2.
